Things are really moving along on Ignite Phoenix. Our date is secured (August 12th), as is our location (Jobing.com HQ) and submissions should open up any day. Roger and I gave a quick pitch about it at the Phoenix Social Media Club, and James Britt of Refresh Phoenix fame has given us a mention!
I also had an invite from Sean Tierney to attend the Tempe Nerds lunch this week (Thursday at the Tavern on Mill) and hoping to spread more interest there.
Much appreciation out to all the above groups and people for helping to get the word out.
It gets me stoked because Ignite Phoenix isn’t an existing group - it’s about bringing different groups together! The more diverse groups of people who are interested, the better the event will be. If you have any groups you belong to, technical, creative, entrepreneurial, or otherwise, let us know. We’d love to get them involved in Ignite Phoenix and add them to our local link-roll.
We also updated our About section, which explains a little bit more about the process and format of the event. Ideas, questions, and comments are always welcome.

Thanks for the mention, glad to help get this rolling.
One thing: I’m not involved with Refresh; I look after Refactor Phoenix (http://www.refactorphoenix.com), which meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

@James - Sorry about that, I saw your comment in the Refresh Phx group and didn’t make the mental translation to my post. Thanks for the support!
Refactor Phoenix and the Phoenix Ruby User Group are now both in our Phoenix blogroll.

@Tomas - All of the above are now in our linkroll, except for AZ Ad Club which said they are down for maintenance. We’ll contact all them to see if they want to participate in Ignite!
Thanks!
