Last night’s first ever Ignite Phoenix event was, I’ll go out on a limb here, a success!
We had standing room only, with 110+ people in the room. Another 40+ tuned into the UStream broadcast and talked it up in the chatroom. One presenter had his parents watching from another state, and apparently an army base in Alaska was tuned in for a while. We had no mainstream advertising for this. Many attendees couldn’t even recall where they heard about the event, so it was really spread around by word of mouth. The presenters rocked the place from first to last, and we finally had to shoo people out over an hour after the last speaker wrapped up. Amazing.
To everyone who presented, promoted, filmed, helped, set up, took down, or just showed up and cheered - thank you!

So what’s next?
By intermission people were already asking when the next one would be, and the answer is No Idea Yet. Right now we’re decompressing, wrapping up some loose ends, and that sort of thing. We’re also collecting names of people willing to pitch in and help lead, support, or sponsor future events. We would love to see this become a quarterly event in Phoenix, but we will need a ton of help to make that happen. We’re especially interested in ideas for a venue that could support a few hundred people and ideally have some sort of bar or area to socialize.

We had so much fun last night! Loved the spectrum of interesting presentations and the conversations it sparked afterward. Can’t wait for the next one!

I only could hang for the first couple of talks, but they were quite good. How’d the after-thing go at Half Moon?

@Gil - Had a nice group at Half Moon afterwards, shooting pool, drinking beer, and talking a lot about the great show. I was falling over tired by 10:30 so headed out then, but several people were still there when I left.
